Raw Food Detox Diet: 12 Great Snacks

The Raw Food Detox Diet is based upon the eating concept of raw foodism or rawism. The Raw Food Detox Diet was created by Natalia Rose. This concept states that plants and vegetables in their natural state are the most wholesome for the body. This diet requires planning and effort to ensure all foods retain all their vitamins and minerals yet still taste good. Common foods on this diet include sprouts, seeds, whole grains, beans, seaweed, dried fruit and nuts.

On this diet, individuals are advised to eat an early morning snack, breakfast, an afternoon snack, lunch, evening snack and dinner. During the day, Ms. Rose stresses consuming the green lemonade and fresh fruit. A piece of fruit is to be eaten 30 minutes before each meal. Food groups such as starches, meats, nuts, and dried fruits are not to be consumed within 3 to 4 hours of one another. Below are several snack options for individuals following the Raw Food Diet.

One piece of medium fruit is an ideal snack for this eating plan.

Enjoy 10 oz baby carrots with a mixture of 4 oz raw nuts and a small box of raisins.

Create these by mixing shredded raw coconut with raisins, dates and raw nuts. Add ½ tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice to the mix and form into a ball.

Combine freshly squeezed lemons with water and sweetened with stevia. Add the juice of one apple and one lemon and stir.

Blended together a handful or two of spinach or kale with stevia, water and ice.

Enjoy two celery sticks smeared with 1 tbsp each of raw nut butter and sprinkled with organic raisins.

Organic apple juice is sure to quench your thirst and satisfy your sweet tooth.

Eat a cup of organic soy yogurt with 2 tsp each of sunflower seeds and wheat germ.

Examples of raw nuts include almonds, brazil, pecans, walnuts, sunflower seeds, black walnuts, pine nuts, macadamia nuts, hazel nuts and coconuts.

Create these by mixing shredded organic 55% cacao chocolate or 70% pure chocolate with several drops of organic peppermint essential oil. Roll into balls and top with shredded coconut.

Make this raw snack by thinly slicing an array of vegetables (recommended vegetables include sweet potatoes, butternut squash, zucchini, kale and beets). Top with olive oil, salt, seasonings and place in dehydrator.

Slice up an avocado into ½ inch strips. Create a breading out of ½ cup flax seed, 1 tsp minced garlic, 1 tsp salt, 1 tbsp nutritional yeast and 1 tsp oregano. Roll avocado in breading and dehydrator for approximately one hour.

The Raw Food Detox Diet allows for raw vegetables in addition to lightly steamed, low starch vegetables such as butternut squash, raw fruit, organic fish, organic meats, organic poultry, raw nuts and seeds, whole grains, raw breads, cold-pressed oils and 70% pure chocolate. This diet follows several levels, and once you master each level, you move on to the next level (which increases the amount of raw food in your diet).
