Colombia participa en el EIBTM en Barcelona
Por quinto año consecutivo Colombia participa en uno de los eventos turísticos más importantes del año. Se trata del Salón de la Industria de Viajes de Negocio, Congresos e Incentivos -EIBTM- que tendrá lugar en Barcelona del 30 de noviembre al 2 de diciembre. Además, podrán apreciar cómo integrar el confort con los negocios en los mejores escenarios, pues este país combina los paisajes exuberantes con los más sofisticados centros empresariales.
Air France lanzaría Low Cost para vuelos domésticos
La aerolínea gala busca constituir una estructura de bajo costo para vuelos domésticos para hacer frente a la creciente competencia de aerolíneas como Easyjet y Ryanair, cuyo principio sería establecer pilotos y tripulaciones en ciudades fuera de París y que vuelen más horas. El proyecto Air France Express podría materializarse en 2011.
Centroamérica Travel Market 2010
La séptima edición de la Feria Centroamérica Travel Market -CATM- se realizará del 18 al 20 de octubre en la ciudad colonial Antigua Guatemala. Brindará la oportunidad de conocer la oferta turística de la región centroamericana, y será la ocasión para hacer negocios con las más representativas empresas turísticas locales. Vuelo Río de Janeiro-Dallas con American Airlines
El nuevo vuelo directo entre Dallas y Río de Janeiro de American Airlines iniciará el 17 de diciembre. Tendrá una frecuencia de tres veces por semana y será operada con un Boeing 767. El vuelo desde Nueva York (JFK) comenzará, según lo planificado, el 18 de noviembre.
Best Western Portal con programa Solo para Mujeres
Por primera vez en Australia, el hotel Best Western Portal se une al grupo de hoteles a nivel internacional en lanzar un programa exclusivo “Solo para mujeres”. Dirigido a viajeras independientes que demandan en igual medida un alto estándar de lujo y seguridad. De acuerdo al propietario del hotel, Georgie Woods, la decisión de dedicar un piso del hotel exclusivamente para las huéspedes mujeres, en el que el acceso a los hombres está totalmente prohibido, responde a la solicitud de las clientas.
Jamaica sede de Conferencia CMEx
La edición número 19 de la Conferencia de Intercambio de Medios Caribeños, CMEx, tendrá lugar en la capital empresarial de Jamaica, Kingston, del 30 de septiembre al 4 de octubre. Están interesados en participar una variedad de grupos y personas interesadas en el agroturismo, el turismo de fe y otras iniciativas turísticas.
Moscú abrió el hotel más lujoso de la ciudad
La cadena surcoreana de hoteles premium Lotte Hotels&Resorts abrió el Lotte Hotel Moscow (5 estrellas), hotel de lujo con 304 habitaciones. Es el hotel más caro y el más ambicioso proyecto en el mercado ruso. Forma parte de The Leading Hotels of the World, reputada entidad que une las mejores propiedades del mundo donde el servicio de primer nivel es la regla. La cadena tiene 35 años de experiencia con seis hoteles de lujo en Corea.
IHG abrirá primer Holiday Inn Express en Singapur
InterContinental Hotels Group se asoció con Valeside Pte para desarrollar el primer establecimiento de la marca Holiday Inn Express en Singapur. La fecha de inauguración se prevé para 2013. El hotel contará con 220 habitaciones y ocupará el actual edificio Wellington del barrio de Orchard Road, una zona con más de 40 complejos comerciales y de entretenimiento, así como numerosos restaurantes, hoteles, oficinas y residencias de alta gama.
Temporada de cruceros en Panamá
El próximo 15 de octubre comienza la tercera temporada de cruceros desde Colón 2000 y la novedad es que ahora serán dos los navíos que zarparán desde esta terminal, el “Ocean Dream” de Pullmantur y el “Grandeur of the Seas” de Royal Caribbean. Otro factor que traerá más tráfico de pasajeros es que esta nueva temporada durará nueve meses (octubre-junio), dos meses más que en 2009. Se proyecta que 85.000 pasajeros, principalmente extranjeros, zarpen de la terminal de Colón, lo que representaría 35.000 turistas adicionales comparando las cifras de la temporada pasada cuando 50.000 personas abordaron el crucero en Colón 2000. mpino@eluniversal.com
