Do I need a liver detox if I'm going to take supplements anyway?
I am going to be taking herbal supplements to counteract my liver deficiency. I'm wondering if I should first do a liver detox program, or whether it would be the same as taking the supplements or if I don't even need to do the detox.
"Detoxing" is nonsense. Your body is perfectly capable of "detoxing" itself. You NEVER need a "liver detox", even if such a thing really existed. (It doesn't. But scammers will sell you all sorts of crap and TELL you it "detoxes" your liver. How would you ever know?)
Another thing — what makes you think you HAVE a "liver deficiency" that needs treatment? What makes you think ANY supplement would be helpful in treating it? It all sounds so VERY bogus.
You can use chlorella and zeolite to help remove heavy metals and PCBs from your liver and other tissues. A good probiotic also helps as well as stopping all artificial sweeteners and colors from your diet. Cut out processed foods and eat a lot of vegatables and lean proteins and/or fermented soy products (miso, natto, tempeh — stay away from soy milk, tofu, etc.). Good luck!
According to herbalist you do need to detoxify prior to starting a supplement. I would get with a good herbalist and see what they think ; most herb or natural food store employ such a person and are there to consult for free. Of course they will recommend products in the store but you are free not to buy their products.
Why do you think you need a
liver detox?? What's wrong with your liver?? How do you
know??? Have you had tests?? Are you an alcoholic??
Does your liver hurt? Are you yellow inside your lower eyelids?
If you seriously have liver
problems, you need a lot
more than herbal supplements. You need some testing to see what's
wrong.
