How much of your intestine is safe to remove?
I am going in for a bowel rescetion and this will be my second. I am just wondering how much intestine they can remove safely.
My first surgury I had 2 feet removed from my large intsetine now the are going to remove another 10 inches.
I had about 10 feet removed from my small intestine too…
I am not worried about having a colostomy, whatever helps me feel better. Just wondering how much is a safe amount
it would be a good idea to ask a doctor not one of us.
well there was that one girl who put her butt over a pool drain and had most of her intestines pulled out and shes just fine, so Id say you could afford to lose a little more

The average large bowel is 5 feet long. You can have all of it excised if need be. It's the small intestine that is an average of 20 feet long, not the overall intestinal tract. And it's certainly NOT 100 feet long. LOL!!!
