York Country Day School has the following coaching vacancies for the 2010/11 winter sports season. Middle School Boys’ Head Basketball Coach, Middle School Boys’ Assistant Coach, Middle School Girls’ Assistant Coach, Varsity Girls’ Assistant Coach. Prior coaching experience required. Littlestown Fundraiser
The Littlestown field hockey team, in a combined effort with cheerleading and football, is kicking off a ‘Score for a Cure’ weekend this Friday at Littlestown’s home football game. The field hockey team is selling T-shirts in three different colors, pink for breast cancer, blue for colon cancer, and purple for pancreatic cancer. All proceeds for the T-shirt sales will be donated to the American Cancer Society in memory of George Wherley, a former Littlestown teacher who passed away from pancreatic cancer. Students who wear a ‘Score for a Cure’ T-shirt at Friday’s game will get in for free.
West York Hosts Dig Pink Match
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, West York High School will host its second annual Dig Pink volleyball match on Monday in the West York gym. The Lady Bulldogs will host Spring Grove in a non-league match. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the varsity match starting at 7:30 p.m. Dig Pink is a nationally recognized title given to high school and college volleyball matches across the country in which money is raised and donated to the Side-Out Foundation, a non-profit organization, whose mission is to raise awareness about breast cancer and fund research to find a cure. All proceeds from the match will be donated to the Side-Out Foundation. Breast cancer survivors will be admitted free of charge.
Wolf Pack Wrestling
Wolf Pack Wrestling club practices start Tuesday, Oct. 5 and will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. through Thursday, Nov. 18 at Central York High School. All wrestlers are invited. Top area coaches, including head coach Fred DeLuca, will lead practices. Fall semester is $40 or $10 per practice. For more information, contact cywrestling@gmail.com.
