Milk thistle, dandelion root side effects~~>hormonal, crying?
The answer may be stop taking these two herbs…yet: do these liver detox/strengthening herbs effect hormones? i've taken milk thistle and within 30 minutes onward~~> crying as if i have a case of PMS. Noted a simular effect when drinking dandelion tea. Each are known benefactors of maintaining a healthy liver. Anyone clear on how the liver may effect hormones…how else would the crying, sad emotions come into play?
No, neither are known for helping your liver. 'detox' is a scam term. Maybe you are starting to realise that you've been scammed and your emotions are now coming to the surface?

Both of the herbs like you mentioned are liver involving herbs.Milk Thistle improves liver function by protecting toxin penetration(is hepatoprotective),it also increases ribosomal protein synthesis which in turn stimulates liver regeneration and it might also have antifibrotic and anti-inflammatory effects.
However Milk Thistle lacks effectiveness for hepatitises and there are better herbs available for these conditions.
Studies are currently lacking/limited regarding Dandelion and liver diseases although it is plausable that it could also have estrogenic effects.(why you could of had that effect).
Dandelion was shown in a study to have Hepatoprotective Effects against Acute Liver disease in rats.
Dandelion(Pu Gong Ying) is traditionally used in TCM for mastitis,bile stimulation(onyl mild effect), Boils,Carbungles,inflammation.
Some cautions need to be taken(or perhaps avoiding altogether) those prepackaged detox formulas that are heavily advertised over the internet as sometimes they may have herbs which arnt traditionally used for that indication so could be without benefit or sometimes even harmful.
The connection between Milk Thistle + Dandelion and your hormonal crying is most likely because those two herbs could have Estrogenic activity.The above ground parts of Milk Thistle are known to have Estrogenic effects and in theory it is possible that Dandelion could too.
Also are you taking any medications eg:birth control as these two herbs specifically can interfere with the clearance of some medications.
Also people with endometriosis, cancers of the breast, uterus and ovaries or uterine fibroids should not take Milk Thistle.
