Confirmed my suspicion! They are exactly the same product. I have read through the ingredient lists of both.

My experience with Neutrogena Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Cleanser/Mask was just an OK. Even though it did clean up my face fairly well and leave a cool sensation, it didn’t produce any foam. I wanted something that will make bubbles!

And that’s where this Garnier Skin Naturals Clean Detox Purifying Foaming Gel came into view. It was recommended by the sales assistant at a nearby pharmacy. She guaranteed this product would produce bubbles.

Well, it did produce lots of bubbles all right. But this foaming gel couldn’t remove makeup as well as Neutrogena Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Cleanser/Mask. Worst of all, it dried out my skin!!! I could feel the tightening sensation on my face immediately after using this cleanser. It’s even tighter than when a clay mask dries up on my skin. I quickly lathered my face with Beautiful Skin by Renee. Fortunately, there was no dry patch found the next day. I said good-by to Garnier just after one trial. It’s my first and possibly the last product from this brand. (I am scared!) What a shame!

Therefore, don’t go anywhere near this product if you have semi-dry skin like mine or even drier skin as it’s gonna suck all the moisture out of your face!

Disheartened, I decided to go back to the basics. After failing to locate one bottle of my old trusted Eucerin Sensitive Skin pH5 Washlotion for body and face here in Sydney, I decided to pick up a different old favourite of mine, Sebamed liquid Face & Body Wash. At least I knew it would work well for me.

Before becoming crazy over Eucerin products, I was using a lot of Sebamed products and this was one of my top favourites. (I reckon I switched over to Eucerin simply because it was always on sale in major pharmacies in Malaysia. While Sebamed was also a common brand, it was not as readily available, and more expensive thus the turnover rate was lower which meant sometimes the bottles may be old. I prefer using fresh products so eventually I moved onto Eucerin instead. The two products work about the same, with Eucerin being less scented.)

This product is superb for people with sensitive skin (like my son) and dry skin (like me) as it is sopa-free, doesn’t irritate and totally non-drying on the skin. It produces lots of bubbles and removes makeup well. What’s said on this following picture is all true based on my experience. From face to toe, even to the most private part, it cleans up nicely, locks the moisture in and leaves a fresh scent on its way out. It’s basically one product for many purposes. And I can tell you that it’s perfectly safe for baby’s delicate skin and hair. Yes, Sebamed carries separate baby hygiene products but this one is equally good.

I dared to buy one giant bottle because I knew this product by heart. (I think I can recite all Sebamed and Eucerin products!) It’s actually quite cheap as a little gel goes a long way. And I prefer a bottle with a pump for easy dispensing anyway. It’s a product that I have used for years and shouldn’t have strayed from it to try out other stuff because of curiosity. Yes, it’s rather boring to use a same old product years after years. But considering the time and money wasted on trying out new things that sometimes don’t work, I am glad I found my old love back. And I know my son’s happy as he’s been suffering from dry and itchy skin as the weather started to get colder and drier. After started using this Face & Body Wash, I don’t see him scratching his skin as often, especially when he sleeps. That alone puts a big smile on my face.

I have bought a couple of other Sebamed products since (and will follow up with reviews later.) There is a solid reason why an old brand is passed down from generation to generation.

Before I go off, I have to share this news clip with you all. It is disgusting and purely irresponsible. I thought I had forgive The Orange One (Napoleon Perdis), but I guess I can’t now…
