Your Questions About How Does Colon Cancer Look Like

Linda asks…
ummm…this is kind of a wierd question but how does ur poo look like if u have colon cancer???

Jill answers:
Mostly it looks normal. That is why people often don’t know they have cancer.
You might have blood in it, or you might have “pencil thin” stools, but usually no difference that you could see.
If you have a family history of colon cancer, or if you are 40 years old or older, or have “change” in your stools, go to your doctor for screening test

Betty asks…
My wifes got cancer and we are all finding it hard to cope as shes got a limit.?
Hello well were do i start? How do i cope what do i do to keep her happy?
sorry bob.
No she was diagnoised with quiet some time but she never told me.What do i go see? i need people to talk to i dont know is it councilors or what?

Jill answers:
Take your eyes off the clock and learn to live and cope in the here and now.
You can talk to the specialist cancer nurse at the hospital or you can ring and talk to any of the charities that offer help and support like McMillan, Cancer Research and Bacup and there are many others as well.
Arrange with her to see and discuss it all with the consultant at the hospital, as this is a little unusual in that she has hidden all the admissions and tests and results from you and the family and it is now that she needs to share it with you. Also it would be nice to discuss with the consultant why she cannot have chemotherapy and surgery and why no options have been made available to her.

Mark asks…
Vomiting Feces, diaherra, constipation, could this be cancer?
Last thursday i seen the doctor and he ordered a chemical blood screen, and a cholesterol check. I have been having naseau for awhile now. But Friday about 2:30pm i got sick at my stomach. I vomited a few times. I hadnt ate nothing that day. I tried to eat a sandwich and ate one bite. It came back out. About 10:30pm i vomited and and out came what looked like feces. I have been sick ever since. I have been able to hold down food the past few days. But ever so often i get sick again. Tonight i did it again. i called my doctor and they want me to see the doctor first thing in the morning for a CT scan. I have a few questions. first will a blood test show exactly how much hydrocodone i had took? Cause i kept vomitting them back up. 2nd. What is wrong with me? Could it be cancer? Oh and i have times when i have severe diaherra, and then i will be constipated for a few days. Most of the time its diaherra. Colon cancer does run in my family. I just dont know what to do. I am scared i will be put in the hospital, or i wont get my pain meds anymore, which i really need because of the broke hip i have, and the pain i have in my side. Could the pain meds be causing my problems though? Should i stop taking them? I am so scared right now.
Yes it is possible to vomit feces. Ive not only been told this by a doctor, but also a nurse and who ever it was i talked to calling the ER. It is caused by many different things. One is a obstruction of the bowel. I talked to my doctor again tonight and since i am still doing it they want me at the doctors office first thing in the morning for a CT scan. But iam worried cause that could take a few days to get the results back. But today i was told that it could also be cancer causing the obstruction. Or a hole in the intestines. I am just trying to confirm what i was told. I will update this tomorrow after i see the doctor to tell everyone what he says and does. i dont think iam going to be able to sleep tonight. i am terrified.

Jill answers:
Yes you can vomit feces but there is not usually a question in the patients mind when this happens and I don’t understand why you are waiting until tomorrow to get a CT or that you think it will take days to get the results. Yes it could be colon cancer. It could also be perforated colon which could kill you a lot faster.

Jenny asks…
Why do African American males tend to look bad on the eyes of society?
It just seems as though no matter if AA males have master’s or doctorate degrees, individuals in society tend to “blackballed” AA males. Even with statistics we are leading on mostly everything that is negative (i.e. highest rate of becoming incarcerated, highest rate to develop colon cancer, highest rate to develop hypertension, highest rate to develop diabetes, and the list will go on and on). It even has gotten to the point where when I was in my teens, my parents have to show me how to “speak to the police” and they are college educated. My mom is a nurse practioner and my dad is a mechanical engineer both of whom are African-American.
I didn’t let outside elements affect the person within me, but it is just a question that I happen to realize being from the South.
FYI I also would like to mention that I earned my bachelor’s degree in elementary education and I am currently working towards my master’s degree in elementary administration.

Jill answers:
Well the statistic’s don’t lie, but a lot of it has to with the media portraying black guys as thugs, ghetto, uneducated and unintelligent. Which drives people to view them in that light and make them think that blacks should be the scapegoat of crime.
And the truth is that a lot of black guys do fit that stereotype. However, I have met quite a few that were not stereotypical black people. So it’s really just a matter of seeing which ones act like that or not.
But you don’t seem to be that way and congrats on getting your degree.

David asks…
Found a lost Sheltie….never seems to turn out how you hope does it?
As we were turning into our apartment complex a sheltie darted out in front of our car but we didn’t hit her….we kept going but we knew if it was our dog loose we would want someone to pick her up.
So we went back and looked at her tags….the number disconnected but she led us to where she lived….we asked a neighbor if they new her and they did and said they have picked her up and taken her home several times out at the busy main rd.
I thought the dog was in heat but they said she wasn’t but she has Colon Cancer (and she was bleeding) well they were going to call AC (we had called the Humane Society and they couldn’t take her) and offered to take her (they know this dog well) so we left her there and left a note on the owners door (she wasn’t answering) where she was.
We also called AC….since she is terminal atleast she will be able to be put down instead of getting hit in the street (the neighbor says that the woman just lets the dog and unleashed which is a violation of the leash law)
The dog was matted and very skiddish. She looked like she hasn’t had a bath in weeks….
We had hoped that maybe she was a dog that just got loose and had a family that missed her…but as my husband went up to our Apt to get a leash it was quite obvious she had been neglected and then we found neighbors who knew her and we got the whole story.
Needless to say I know we did the right thing but at the same time I wish the situation had been different.
I guess its kind of my gift and my curse….caring so much.
this comes a week after the cat I was trying to save was killed (hit and run)
Well thanks for listening….AC will be out to investigate.
The dog is terminal so its probably for the best.
Thanks for listening

Jill answers:
I know that it hurts when stories end like this one.
But as hard as it is, I hope you keep at it. Animals out there need people like you. And just one good story is worth it. Believe me, you will help with at least one happy ending.
If it were my dog, I would love your forever.

Howdy! I know this is kinda off topic however , I’d figured I’d ask. Would you be interested in exchanging links or maybe guest writing a blog article or vice-versa? My site covers a lot of the same topics as yours and I feel we could greatly benefit from each other. If you are interested feel free to send me an e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you! Awesome blog by the way!
Hello superb website! Does running a blog similar to this take a lot of work? I have very little expertise in coding but I had been hoping to start my own blog soon. Anyway, should you have any recommendations or tips for new blog owners please share. I know this is off subject however I just needed to ask. Cheers!
I really like your blog.. very nice colors & theme. Did you design this website yourself or did you hire someone to do it for you? Plz respond as I’m looking to design my own blog and would like to know where u got this from. cheers
Hello! Quick question that’s entirely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My blog looks weird when viewing from my iphone 4. I’m trying to find a template or plugin that might be able to resolve this problem. If you have any suggestions, please share. Many thanks!
Fascinating blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere? A design like yours with a few simple tweeks would really make my blog stand out. Please let me know where you got your theme. Thank you
Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a few of the images aren’t loading properly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different browsers and both show the same outcome.
Hi are using WordPress for your blog platform? I’m new to the blog world but I’m trying to get started and set up my own. Do you require any coding expertise to make your own blog? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Wow that was strange. I just wrote an incredibly long comment but after I clicked submit my comment didn’t appear. Grrrr… well I’m not writing all that over again. Anyhow, just wanted to say great blog! http://chloerkqo5.wetpaint.com/page/Information+On+How+To+Start+Learning+Everything+About+The+Cheapest+Van+Insurance+Fast
Hi! Do you use Twitter? I’d like to follow you if that would be okay. I’m definitely enjoying your blog and look forward to new posts.
Hello! This is my first comment here so I just wanted to give a quick shout out and tell you I really enjoy reading through your blog posts. Can you recommend any other blogs/websites/forums that go over the same subjects? Appreciate it!
I was curious if you ever thought of changing the page layout of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or two images. Maybe you could space it out better?
This design is incredible! You obviously know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Excellent job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!

Wow! This blog looks just like my old one! It’s on a totally different topic but it has pretty much the same layout and design. Outstanding choice of colors!
