Your Questions About Colon Flushing Out

Joseph asks…
What are some remedies for Raynaud’s disease?
I’d like answers from people who have this where you have found things that help. I have to work in a cooler and so I have the symptoms all the time. I’m trying out some flax seed oil, green tea, and a good multivitamin. I found out that my migraine meds may have caused it. So, I’m not looking for any new prescriptions thank you very much! Do you think a good overall cleanse like a colon cleanse would help at all? I did a colon flush once and it did wonders for my immune system. I wonder if I do that again it will help my circulatory. What do you think? I most certainly am not going to start buying $80 worth of supplements monthly such as Shaklee or Melaleuca would recommend. I don’t have that kind of money to throw around.
Well, there is no real remedy for it – but there must be some remedies for the symptoms such as how it seems I’ve lost feeling entirely in my fingertips.
I always wear a hat, gloves and a jacket at work, but I have no choice but to work in a refrigerated space and handle cold/frozen foods. I think I need to look for a new job – but in this economy – that’s not even something I want to think about!
Yes, I stopped taking the Rizatriptans when I found that Excedrin for migraines works better than anything else.
A friend of mine who also has lupus suggested the channel blockers but I wonder if the prescription meds will cause other issues and have undesirable side effects.
The doctor ran all kinds of tests even a thyroid test and everything is normal other than the symptoms of Raynaud’s.

Jill answers:
I know u dont wish any new prescriptions, but this might be worth a try.
I’m guessing u r taking an ergot derivative or sumatriptan for ur migraine, which maybe the reason. But here are the alternatives i can think of
1. Try taking painkillers for ur migraine headache. If they suffice, u can discontinue ur current meds.
2. Flunarizine or verapamil(both calcium channel blockers), help in migraine, plus have vasodialatory properties, so may help in raynaud’s disease.
3. Change of migraine meds….. Tricyclic antidepressants like amitryptaline also reduce migraine attacks. Plus u get rid of the offending drugs.
Option 2 and 3 need a doctor’s consult before starting.
I hope i have been of help. Any further queries, please post on this Q.
_______________________________________________
in light of the new info:
now that u’ve stopped the triptans, the problem should subside(assuming it was caused by them in the first place). If u’ve stopped them recently, wait for a few days. It shud get better.
If it isnt getting better, consult ur doctor about starting the calcium channel blockers. They are quite safe, and usually well tolerated. But u’ll need a doctor’s evaluation before u start dem.
Also get an ANA titre done to rule out some autoimmune diseases.
Hope u get well soon!!!

A question about constuipation and bentonite clay?
For years I have suffered from ibs, but recently I have been getting chronic constipation. I usually go to the toilet once every 3 days, and I always get a feeling of incomplete evacuation. For quite some time now I have felt sluggish and unhealthy. Even though I eat healthy and go to the gym, I don’t feel very energetic and healthy. I have read that chronic constipation can cause toxins to build up in your colon. I also have severe wind and I always have discomfort in my abdomen. Fibre just seems to aggravate my ibs. But I have recently disovered something that sounds interesting…
Apparently bentonite clay is very good for absorbing the bad toxins in the colon and flushing them out. Some people who have tried this report feeling much healthier, less constipation, and more energetic. As long as my colon is holding in stool I will continue to feel unwell. Do you believe that a colon cleanser will do the trick, or at least help?

Jill answers:
I would think that bentonite clay would be about the worst thing you could do for constipation – it should take more water out of your system when it seems to me you need to add it. I agree, you need a support group and doctor advice on diet, not Yahoo Answers.
And as for “bad toxins” building up in your gut – we have spent at least several hundred thousand years developing a gut to handle what we eat – so suddenly we make our own toxins? I agree that being constipated can be painful and/or uncomfortable.

Yes, most definitely! I’ve read several reports on the aboutclay website from people who have suffered with ibs and have gotten help with calcium bentonite clay.

Ruth asks…
Colonics…. and the possible damage?
Could a colonic cause damage to the colon?
They send water up to your colon to flush it out… couldn’t that cause damage or hurt something?

Jill answers:
Yes, if someone inexperienced is doing it.
Overall if you’re a healthy young woman (assuming from the avatar) there is NO need to get a colonic. There’s nothing going on that a high fiber and probiotic-rich diet won’t fix. Your intestinal flora are working hard to keep your colon healthy, your kidneys are natural detox machines.
I think colonics are a bit of a scam, personally. They’re unnatural – your body is a fine tuned machine with millions of years of evolutionary mechanics. Do you think we evolved and succeeded with the organs we have for SO LONG only to need a tube up our rears to help us go to the bathroom now? The answer is a resounding no. Your colon is fine without it.

Do colon cleansers really help you lose belly fat?
I have been trying to lose the fat from my stomach for some time now, I’ve used a product (that I wont mention) a few months ago and it did’nt do anything. Has anyone ever tried a colon cleanser that reallly works to help you lose belly fat? I heard most of the fat in your stomach is caused by fecal matter build up that gets trapped in your colon walls. I would appreciate your help, I’m tired of looking like I’m 6 months pregnant in the mid section…..lol

Jill answers:
All these colon cleansers are useless for losing weight. The fat around your stomach is not caused by stuff trapped in your insides. Try a proper healthy diet with lots of fruit and vegetables. Not only will in clean your colon but you may actually lose some weight.
There appears to be some scientific evidence to support the fact that “good fats” like olive oil and avos are good for losing fat around the waist. Try the Mediterranean diet, which contains plenty of these good fats. You mat even want to look into the Flat belly Diet which is a derivative of the Mediterranean diet.

Paul asks…
Is there a colon cleanser that really works?

Jill answers:
Colon cleansers are really not good for you.
The best and NATURAL way to clean your colon would be to go on a fruit, veggie, and water fast for about 2 weeks. Also at night you should drink hot green tea.

Sandra asks…
i need a colon cleanser that really works, any ideas?

Jill answers:
Based upon experience, I recommend a nightly dose of Metamucil and Dulcolax.
The Dulcolax softens material stuck on the sides of the colon and metamucil hastens it on its way out.

Carol asks…

What am I doing wrong? Acai berry & colon cleanser?
I have been on the acai berry and colon cleanser diet for 2 weeks now, the 1st week iI lost about 5pounds and almost all of my stomach. This week I haven’t lost anything help!! I take it as directed and I walk at least 3 times a week, when I have time and other days I’m running around with the kids, Am I doing anything wrong?

Jill answers:
There are many factors. You always hit a plato when you diet. It sounds like you don’t have a lot of weight to lose and may have hit yours. It usually lasts a few days to a week. Keep doing what your doing and ride it out. You may want to try and increase your workout during this time to jump start the weight loss again.

Helen asks…
would you give your 8 and 5 yr old a MILD colon cleanser?
is there any out there for kids

Jill answers:
No please don’t – it’s unnecessary and potentially dangerous to administer a colon cleanse to a child.
If they’ll eat it, give them bifidus or probiotic yogurt. The good bacteria is beneficial to the colon. You can mix a half tsp. Of raw flaxseed in the yogurt for a healthy fiber boost, too.
A diet of fresh vegetables and fruits (skin on when possible), whole grains and lean proteins is the best colon cleanse there is.

James asks…
Would a colon cleanser be bad for me?
Im a 16 year old, 250+ pound kid lol. I know im overweight. Over almost a year ive been suffering from constipation off and on. When I do go, its in little medium sized plops and about 2 or 3 come out. I end up getting brain fog and headaches and not feeling well. I know its my diet because I dont go outside or anything. This last wednesday I started walking 30 minutes to an hour a day when the weather isnt bad. Its winter here. When I do take a laxative and go, I FEEL BETTER, I feel so energized!
I started taking some benefiber seeing if that will help. But I was reading about colon cleansers online, and they described like every symptom I have, when they explain different symptoms of a clogged colon or something that leads to constipation. I know its my diet, but do you think its built inside of me?
Would it be safe to buy some? Im also trying to change my diet but its hard too when we dont ever eat HEALTHY..
I just dont want to mess my self up. Is it dangerous? My friend said that he drank some of it when he got constipated and it helped him. I think it also may be a food allergy too.
Our dinners contain tv dinners or fast food. And when we do eat, its fried chicken and macoroni and cheese with maybe potatoes and corn, but I ALWAYS ignored the corn. Im just so tired of being constipated.
Well, its tacos and different stuff like that, porkchops, fried chicken, meatloaf and cheeseburgers ![]()
^^^ as what its like when my mom cooks lol.

Jill answers:
Like said earlier, colon cleansers are a one big pile of bs. It’s a waste of time and money. You really need to start eating better to have any sort of long term regularity however.
For now, stick with the benefiber, and push your family to start eating better. When you start eating better, make sure there’s lots of greens with your food, as they naturally contain fibre.
To convince your family to start eating better, I would say start talking to your family doctor and possibly arrange for a family meeting with the doctor if possible. Have him explain to your family the effects that can accompany such an unhealthy diet, both long term and short term. At 16, if you continue to eat this way, you’re putting yourself in a world of hurt as you get older.

Daniel asks…
Has Anyone Tried Colon Cleansers?
I’ve been seeing a lot of advertising for “colon cleansers”. The only info I get is the self serving statements made by the advertisement itself. Has anyone tried them? Do they work, and when they work, is it an “all day event” (like cleaning for a lower GI series) or….I know this is kind of tacky, but the claims intrigue me. When we were youngsters, my grandparents used to give us kids what they called a “physic” at the end of every winter. It really cleaned you out! I can’t recall if I noticed any benefit to it, though.

Jill answers:
I tried the colon cleanse. It worked for a month or something. It was pills and cleansing tea and some other poweder stuff you mix with water (that tasted horrible *_*) But the tea was good. It worked I was interested in getting those parasites out of my body that I seen in those adds lol. I just used the bathroom normally not like anyone would expect *_* but the amount of water that they want you to drink….you might as well stay home and not go anywhere because you have to pee every few minutes!
Anyway’s I ordered the tea one more time after that but about a year or so later I called back because they said to use about once a year but they were gone! *_* Lets just hope I was cleansed out and nothing else. There’s this extremely hilarious news article I read this year that you might be interested in about how it works ….I advise you not to eat anything 0_0 before or while reading

Sharon asks…
Colon Cleanse?
Yes…this is embarrassing to talk about to strangers, however I want to get the best and safest product there is. I am 21 years old and have been interested in doing a colon cleanse/detox for myself for awhile now- only I have been reviewing the products and each site rates them differently. I have found that the people who take Oxy Powder and Bowtrol are pleased with the results and how quickly it activates. However, I wanted to see other opinions on safe methods. It doesn’t matter to me if this is “not good”- as long as I don’t die- I am only planning on doing it once a year for about 2-3 months. Any helpful advice or suggestions of other products are welcome. Thanks guys.

Does anyone know of or has tried a good colon cleanse?
I’ve heard that you should do a colon cleanse 1-2 times per year. About 3-4 years ago the doctor told me I had IBS with constipation, he wanted me to take this powder that was spendy and didn’t do anything. I stopped taking it and just accepted that I was constipated all the time. I would be in extreme pain from it. Well about 7 months ago they found cancer in my dad’s colon. They think they got it all and he has been through chemo. That’s when I realized how important it is that I do something about my IBS and that it wasn’t healthy to be sooo backed up. I started to treat it myself. Eating Fiber One bars, drinking extra water, eating lots more fruit and just eating better in general. This has gotten me to be regular. My thing is if normal people have toxins in their colon and body then I know I have A LOT. If I could go back I wouldn’t have let my IBS get so out of control. Does anybody have any recommendations on Colon Cleanse pills. I’ve been googling it for a few weeks and my head is spinning with all the products and reviews out there!

Jill answers:
Hi Macy,
First thing, I’m really hope that the got all of your dad’s cancer. Second thing, I think it’s great that you want to address your digestive system now and improve it. 10 years ago, I was in a similar position as you. At that time I discovered the raw food diet which helped me a lot in terms of reducing chronic indigestion. A couple years later I started doing regular colon cleanses. The first I tried was based on herbs and worked very well. Only thing was that it cost $325. To save money, I tried some less expensive powders that absolutely did not work – just like you describe. Then 5 years ago I found a great herbal cleanse product that works about as well as the first one I did and costs a lot less. That’s the one I do and recommend to my friends and family. I can give it my highest praise as quality product from a small company that really cares. I’ll leave you with the link to their site below. Best of luck to you. Mark

Herbal/natural colon cleanse pills?
My digestive system is very sluggish and needs a lot of help. I am chronically constipated, which is very irritating and depressing! I tried sanar colon cleanser 2002 but it didn’t really do anything for me… I am looking for something similiar with good reviews, help?!

Jill answers:
You can try an aloe drink I’ve been drinking from herbalife I drink it three times a day and the next day in the morning I’m sitting in the bathroom cleaning myself out.

Laura asks…
Suggest a colon cleanse product.?
I have to take pain killers for back pain, and that has done some damage to my body. But I have read into colon cleaning and the benefits it can have. But I want a product that does not require constant use, maybe a once a month/year type thing. Anyone have suggestions, reviews, personal experience that could help?

Jill answers:
I know your situation! I had the same problem!
I tried meany things and for me the only one that worked was Digestit
I do not know if any store carry “Digest It” but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.digestit.com/?aid=221781
It works for me and my husband!

Betty asks…
Colon cleanser?
I read about this colon cleanser on the web, and I just want to ask whether or not I should do it, or if anyone has any better recipe than this. Please help. Here’s the procedure:
3 cups of water
1/4 cup of olive oil
3 tbs of epsom salt
1 large grapefruit
mix it all together and drink 1 cup an hour, unless you can stomach it all at one time. I couldn’t! When it starts working it will take at least 8 to 12 hours to clean all the toxins out of your body! You need to be able to stay home all day! It is awful, but it is not painful or crampy! After you are completey empty you will know! Eat clear liquids for that day, then start on soups and things like that!

Jill answers:
Why dont u just drink 3 doses of miralax to clean it out. colon cleanser?
Can anyone recommend the best colon cleanser on the market? I prefer something I can go right out and buy in a store, but works really well.

Currently using Colonix.
Which ever one you choose, you’ll likely have to buy online.

James asks…
Colon Cleanser?
I recently went out and bought some colon cleasner. Well I did what the directions asked me to and took 5 pills 30min before my meals and nothing has happened.
So far I’ve taken ten because I’ve eaten twice today, Still nothing.
I thought they were so supoosed to start flushing you out immediately.
Can someone tell me what is typical of these kinds of cleansers?
And does it really help with weight loss? I only need to lose 10lbs but more than that I just want to get all the bad stuff out and be regular.
Thanks

Jill answers:
Well actually it does aid in losing weight it is suppose to take all the toxins and left over waste out you will mainly see the weight lose in your stomach area you need to make sure that you eat a good diet stick with fruits vegs and non process foods lots of water and juices. This helps in cleansing you out also take a multi vitamin if you plan on losing weight you should start to see result pretty fast if you don’t see more regular bowl movements soon then return the item for a better one one more thing just remember when you cleanse you will feel horrible during the process but once you have finish you will feel like a million bucks.

Jenny asks…
What is the Best Colon Cleanser That I Can Buy Online?
There are so many colon cleanser products out there online and many of them are questionable in their actual quality. I would like to know where I can find a good quality colon cleanser online that actually works like it says it will – and will do it safely. Plus, it would be a big bonus if its a good deal as well, as cash is tight at the moment. Thanks!
P.S.: Any personal experience you’ve had with the product would be welcome in your answers!

Jill answers:
Hello Brent, I was doing the same research as you few months back. There are so many products out there it is so hard to pick out a good one. I always looking for the 100% natural system which doesn’t give you any bad side effects. After all the research that I did, I choose a system called Bowtrol Colon Cleansing. It’s been FDA approved and it has 100% natural ingredients. And one other reason I choose them is because they also give a 90 days return policy.
I have been on it about a month now, and I feel great, and even lost 10 lbs without change in diet. No side effect. And I feel having more energy everyday. I highly recommend it, as it worked great for me. If you go to their website now, they are giving away free samples. Which is great bonus for you…;-)

Richard asks…
What is the best and most natural colon cleanser?
There are way too many colon clensers on the market. What is the best and most natural colon cleanser out there? Has anyone had any previous experience with one? How much weight did you lose?

Jill answers:
You are right! The market is flooded with them but unfortunately most of them are terrible. In fact, you will be lucky to find a natural cleanser. I personally used Purity 12 and lost almost 9 pounds of weight. I was surprised because I tried quite a few cleansers previously and none of them worked. I actually recommended it to one of my work mates who was struggling to lose a few pounds and it worked a treat for him as well. I think they have a free trial offer at the moment here http://rds.yahoo.com/**http%3a//tinyurl.com/qfwfw5 so you can actually try it out for free for 30 days and see how much weight you lose.
