Your Questions About Natural Colon Cleanse

Daniel asks…

is there a natural way to colon cleanse?

Jill answers:

All you need is plenty of fiber and that means plenty of fruit and vegetables. Bread, cereals, pasta and rice also help.

Red meat is probably the worst food there is for clogging you up and eggs don’t help either.

Liquid chlorophyll and apple cider vinegar every day are both good colon cleansers.

Enemas are unnecessary.

Maria asks…

What is a quick, easy, all natural way to cleanse to the colon?

Jill answers:

A natural way to cleanse your body that I use is the Isagenix fat and burn cleanse system. They have a 9-day or 30-day cleanse. Its great. For more in-depth information on Isagenix go to http://www.louisquezada.isagenix.com/

Your Questions About Colon Detox Pills

Chris asks…

Detox Pills? Can they cause Diabetes?

I herd that those Detox Colon pills can cause diabetes is this true? and i took them for 7 days i ended last saturday night and ever since i been feeling a little bloated and kinda constipated is this normal and i didnt drink a lot of water which is kinda why i think it didnt work.
during my physical last year in the end of august they checked my blood sugar level and it was like 80 out of 120 the nurse asked if i fasted and i said yes she said i have perfect blood sugar level so i dont think its existing diabetes or maybe i just got it un the 10 months since?

Jill answers:

No they can’t CAUSE diabetes, but they can certainly encourage the development of existing potential for diabetes. In other words, diabetes is inherited, if you have the genes then the detox pills (crap by the way) can cause it to show up. They throw your electrolyte balance way out of whack, and as you have found, they are just glorified laxatives that don’t really work unless you drink a gallon of water a day. And if you drank a gallon of water a day, you would not need the pills anyway, you body detoxifies itself quite nicely as long as you drink enough water.

Thomas asks…

How fast will I lose weight on the acai berry detox pills?

I’m 15 years old, 5 foot 2 and 148 pounds. I started the acai berry and colon detox pills last week and today I started walking on the treadmill/across town. I was wondering if anyone has used this pill before and knows how long it will take me to lose 20 pounds. Don’t say to cut down calories ’cause I’ve already done that, I think I take in 1,400 a day. I don’t eat all kinds of snacks, maybe one every two days or so, I eat three meals a day if I can. I drink plenty of water, I just want to know how long. :) Thank you
Thanks, I already have it, I’ve been taking them for about a week

Jill answers:

Acai berry is just a fruit. Same as bananas or apples.

Colon cleansers are just gentle laxatives and fiber. You might lose an additional 5-10 pounds on them, but you will gain it all back as soon as you get off them. And since it’s waterweight, you wont look much better at all.

Colon cleansers are for constipation.

Carol asks…

how come laxative pills dont work on me but suppositories do?

and would suppositories suffice for colon detox instead of these pills bc they arent really making me go to the bathroom like i feel they should. thanks

Jill answers:

If the pills don’t work it’s because the blockage is all at the far end.
The supps of course only deal with the anus/rectum (and maybe the transverse colon in the case of bisacodyl) – if you’re detoxing you really need to tackle both ends of the digestive system.
PS: The colonhealth.net website has some useful tips, as does internapure.com.

Donald asks…

I’m only 13 is colon detox dangerous in the pill form?

My mom said it is but I really want to try it I want to show her it’s not

Jill answers:

Why in the world would a 13 year old be concerned with detoxing their colon??

Newsflash: the colon is not filled with toxins, ask a doctor if you don’t believe me.

John asks…

Does anyone on here know if Diabetics can take the Acai pill and the detox liquid for your colon?

After taking chemo, prednisone and quit smoking I picked a few extra lbs.I would like to try them.
Thanks

Jill answers:

No. I would advise you against taking any neutraceuticals without your endocrinologist’s consent. I am not saying that he or she will tell you no, but what I am saying is that every individual patient is different and has their own personal medical history and other variables which only their specific doctor will know. It could be just fine for one diabetic patient to take such supplements, but not ok at all for another.

Also, I see that you have been on chemotherapy treatments in the recent past. With that thrown into the mix, I would even more strongly advise you to consult with your doctor first.

When you do talk to he or she and if you do get approval, then please make sure to follow the advice I am about to give you. Make sure to get supplements that are USP certified for quality, potency and purity (all three!).

The reason I tell you this, is because not all manufacturers of dietary supplements and nutraceuticals are subject to the most recent changes in FDA regulations. That means that if you get your supplements from a manufacturer (not seller, as just because you may purchase it from a large seller, does not mean what you are purchasing was made by a large manufacturer), then they do not have to follow the new more strict guidelines until possibly 2011. This means that instead of being regulated like an OTC drug, they are regulated just like a food company and nothing more. So the raw materials can be comming from anywhere (and let me just tell you they are mainly comming from China where heavy metal content can be sky high) and they may not even be tested in the least! But if you get products that have USP approval, then you can feel much more confident in the quality, as USP standards are very good and require the companies to follow strict guidelines!

Your Questions About Healthy Colon Pills

Jenny asks…

has anyone used a colon cleanser?

I’ve had IBS for a couple years now. it is disrupting my life. i heard colon cleansers(pill) that you take will help it and to lose a few pounds. Also it is a heck of a lot healthier for you. Has anyone ever used a colon cleanser? what happend?

Jill answers:

Talk to your doctor, before you try anything. When it gets to the point where it’s disrupting your normal life, it’s always time to see the doctor.
I would never take a colon cleanser before talking with my doctor. Especially with the IBS. I know you’ll feel so much better after discussing this with your doctor.
Bless you and good luck! :)

Ruth asks…

Working Out/Colon Cleanse/Whey Protein?

Hi, if I am working out, eating healthier and trying to loose weight(20lbs, I am 140) while also gaining lean muscle by drinking Whey Protein, is it okay to also take my Colon cleanse pills which I was planning on starting tomorrow, or will taking those pills completely defeat the purpose of drinking the Whey Protein?

Jill answers:

Hello it is good to take the colon clense along with the whey protien, the colon clense helps out the fat trimming by flushing out everything therefore helping your metabolism and then the whey protien help your muscle rebuild faster and more defined

Robert asks…

How can I loose weight (NO GAY ANSWERS PLEASE)!?!?!?

I am 14, and need to loose weight, My parents said I can take pills, no colon cleanse or enema or stuff like that! Whats a good healthy way to get weight loss done fast?

Jill answers:

Is a “gay answer” one that gives you ridiculous spam about colon cleanse?

Your parents actually said that you could take weight loss pills? Are they crazy or just obese themselves to not know that you need exercise and a healthy diet in order to lose weight naturally?

Anyway, I’m 14 too, and I jog 3-4 miles a day, with one or two rest days per week. I also weight train, and I eat around 1200-1500 calories per day. You can start off with jogging/walking one mile, and slowly increase the amount. For weight training, buy a pair of 2 pound or 3 pound dumbbells and a DVD, and you can increase the weight. Contrary to myths, weight training does not give you bulky muscles. Those bodybuilders most likely take steroids, and they weight train with very heavy weights.

Exercise and a healthy diet, remember. Don’t eat junk food, and drink 6-8 glasses a day. I also recommend eating 5-6 small meals (200-300 calories each) a day. And it takes time! Unless you’re overweight, you won’t go down a dress size within a week.

Anyway, you asked for a “good healthy way get weight loss done fast.” Pills are not healthy- exercise and a healthy diet are! And you won’t lose like 10 pounds in a week. At most, 2 pounds a week with natural ways.

Charles asks…

I’m trying to get truthful information from anyone that has used the acai berry pill and or colon cleanse?

Hello to all. I’m trying to hear an real testimony from ppl who have taken this. It is a wild craze on the net, but does anyone have any advice/results that they would like to share.

I am trying to loose 10pds in a safe and healthy manner..mostly tummy!

Thanks in advance to all who respond.
AC

Jill answers:

They are both snake oil. There is nothing “fast or easy” about reducing excess body fat. It takes reduced calories, and a commitment to eating properly based on your bodytype and activity level. Not some magical berry or silly “detox” pill.

Sandy asks…

has anybody used that acia berry and colon cleanse combo?

if you have, what kind of results and did you do anything extra, like eat healthier and exercise or just take the pills. also, does it have the metabolism boosters in it, cus i don’t want to take it if it does, those screw up my metabolism. thanks!

Jill answers:

Okay it is sooooooooooooo stupid! You lose weight for a week, then you get fatter then you were before, then you go back to your normal size! :(

Your Questions About Colon Cleansers That Work

Mandy asks…

Do products such as colon cleansers work such as ever cleanse?

I am constantly hearing adds on the radio about products such as ever cleanse that claim to help you lose 8 to 15 lbs by cleaning out your colon. Any truth to this claim or is it a scam or are their products that work just as well. Thank you.

Jill answers:

They probably do work but you don’t really need them. All you need is plenty of fiber and roughage that you can get from the Mediterranean diet, the Pritikin diet and a vegetarian diet. If you investigate those diets and follow one of them your colon will be very healthy and you won’t need an enema or one of those cleanser products.

Helen asks…

Do all the colon cleansers work? Which ones are recomended?

Im having touble decieding which one to get there are so many
cleansers that claimto do the same thing. Please help.

Jill answers:

I would recommend that you stick with the trusted brands. I found a good review of the best colon cleansers in the market in http://www.coloncleansezone.com/colon-cleanser/best-colon-cleanser.html . The reviewed products are available over the counter.

Ken asks…

Is it true that those colon cleansers really work?

I keep hearing about these cleansers and i was wondering, do they help you lose weight and clean your body out?

Jill answers:

Colon cleansers are a good solution for problems such as constipation and IBS.

As they are designed to get rid of waste in the body they DO reduce bloating however they are NOT a weight loss product and I wouldn’t recommend that you use them as such.

Sandra asks…

does the acai berry detox and natural colon cleanser work?

does it really work or is their webpage a scam ? do they rip you off? do the products actually work? all i had to pay is shipping… but is it ok that i paid by check on-line???

Jill answers:

Acai berry tablets DO NOT work for weight loss. Acai Berry is a fantastic supplement. It has very powerful antioxidant properties and can be categorized as a superfood. But there is no proven research that Acai Berry helps with weight loss. Marketers have mis-used Oprah’s and Dr Oz’s names to market the product. It seems to be working as I see a lot of questions on Acai Berry and weight loss.

If you need a more detailed explanation and an expose on the Acai Berry for weight loss scam, do read this article;

http://correct-weight-loss.net/2009/04/03/weight-loss-myths-acai-berry-for-weight-loss/

Sharon asks…

Do colon cleansers really work?

My sis has told me that they make you lose anywhere from 5-25 pounds depending on the state of your intestines and such. I’ve read articles about them and have seen all the infomercials. I’m mainly interested because if they did actually work, I’d want to clean out my intestines, since supposedly there’s like 5-22 pounds of compressed fecal matter in the average person’s intestines.

Jill answers:

There are many natural methods to colon cleanse. When you think about all the toxins that have built up from years of consuming processed food, you can just imagine what lies in the inside lining. Some toxins will stay there forever if not allowed to be flushed out.

You can see the new trend of protecting one’s body, both inside and out becoming the standard in health practices. All natural approaches, exercise and eating more natural foods all help us combat age, and illness.

I recommend that you at least try a natural, homemade Colon Cleanse and see for yourself it’s dramtic healthy feeling. Over the years, I have tried several ways of cleansing, but found a recent product very suited for my needs.

Cleanse and feel healthy,

Your Questions About Colon Cleanser For Weight Loss

Steven asks…

anyone used acai berry and a colon cleanser for weight loss? What were the results?

Jill answers:

I’ve been using acai berry products for a couple of months now and I’ve noticed that yes they do work. I used them when I wanted to trim off about 15lbs.

I knew that diet and exercise alone would help achieve that goal alone but I needed something to help me with my mid afternoon snacking urges. This is where I found the acai berry really helped me.

It helped to curb those mid afternoon urges which meant when I went out jogging later that night I wasn’t just jogging to work off that bag of Doritios I snacked on around 3pm instead I was actually working off the weight I wanted..

After a couple months I now no longer needed the supplements and can manage my weight more easily, so I found that yes they really did help speed up my weight loss goals when I used them along with a diet and exercise program, as the berries gave me more energy and helped to curb my appetite

I got my free trial bottle from the site below

Laura asks…

What is the best colon cleanser out there for weight loss and flatter stomach?

Jill answers:

Colon cleansers are generally not used for weight loss. They are usually used to get rid of parasites. If you want to loose weight, eating properly and exercise is the best way. Wwrn

RN,CLNC

John asks…

does anyone know if the acai berry in combination with a colon cleanser will have good weight loss results?

please only comment if you’ve tried this diet. I’ve seen a lot of ads for using the two in combination but i’d like to hear from the yahoo community rather than an ad.

Jill answers:

I have been through it all and know what’s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can’t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I’ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can’t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising…

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it’s good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It’s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I’ve found a great addition to help any one out, it’s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don’t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don’t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn’t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It’s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace dot com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it’s the best pill I’ve tried and I’ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn’t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I’ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

Lizzie asks…

what are good colon cleansers for weight loss?

I don’t go normally to the restroom and feel that i should get cleaned out. Im also wanting to loose some weight.
I been dancing since I was 3 years and been working out for the past 5 years. I know how to loose weight and am not quit sure where I said get in shape. I just want to know of anyone that has done a colon cleanser and which one really works.

Jill answers:

One of the best home remedies for colon cleansing is to increase the intake of foods such as fresh vegetables and fruits that are high in fiber. Fiber provides roughage which enhances the digestive function and also ensures that the stools are soft and can thereby be easily eliminated. One should also drink plenty of clean drinking water throughout the day as this ensures that the body and the digestive system are well hydrated and harmful toxins are flushed out of the body. There are also various natural herbs that are used as home remedies for colon cleansing. These include aloe leaf which is a very good laxative, ginger that tends to reduce bloating as it stimulates the colon and also flax seeds which tend to increase the peristaltic motion and the intestinal volume which in turn helps in the movement of the bowels. Another one of the home remedies for colon cleansing is to consume fennels seeds which help to eliminate and mucus from the colon. Garlic is also a natural remedy for colon cleansing as it helps in reducing parasites and also tends to eliminate harmful toxins form the body. Another natural treatment for colon cleansing is to eat plenty of fish as they are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, which help in proper digestion, thereby promoting good colon health.

Here’s a weightloss tea formula you can do but you need to minimize processed food & sweets in order for it to work. Plus add cardio 20 min. A day.
Honey & Cinnamon Natures Remedy – make sure you buy raw honey & cinnamon from the healthfood store (scroll down until you see the weightloss tea formula)

To gain more knowledge about food; watch the documentary films “Food Matters”, “A Poisoned World” and “The Beautiful Truth”. You’ll benefit greatly and be able to make wise decisions so you can stay disease free down the road.

Sandy asks…

Is there an inexpensive over the counter colon cleanser that is also good for weight loss?

I’ve seen the ones here online that are very expensive I was just wondering what else is available.

Jill answers:

Colon cleansers are a waist of money.
It’s a new (strange)fad.
You will lose a few pounds the first time and thats it. Just type in “colon cleansers” (with the quotes) on yahoo search.
I think the very 1st link has some reviews from scientists that say there harmful over time.

Do it right…. Eat right, exercise.
