detox recipe………………….?
Does anyone know where I can find the Detox recipe that was on Mirror/Mirror channel 7-2 on regular TV? I know it had lemon and cayenne pepper…

Jill answers:
This is the old standard – the master cleanse detox.
Most people try this one as it is not too difficult. Don’t get me wrong it is tough to hit the 7 day mark. I found the recipe here:

Jill answers:
“Detoxing” your body is the latest in a series of fads which actually do not help you body. Eating healthy, with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain foods and limited amounts of red meat will keep your body right where it needs to be.
Please don’t get caught up in detox thing, it is not good for you.

Carol asks…
Detox Question …?
I’ve got a week to go until my holiday so I want to do a detox…
Normally I would just have a fruit smootie (home made) for breakfast and lunch and snack on grapes throughout the day, however, with a small child I need lots of energy.
Is it okay to use canned beans in a detox i.e.
Recipe
Can of Butter Beans
Celery
Carrots
Corriander
Half a lemon
As a salad?
Your thoughts and advice would come in most handy!
Thanks guys.
Kez x

Jill answers:
I would personally suggest against doing a detox with only a week left, unless you only do that for a day or two. It sometimes takes the body 3-4 days at the most (usually 2 to calm down) to “recover from detoxing” (stop any loose stools that come from the high fiber blend you take). That being said, taking that for a couple days should work well to help you feel cleaner for your trip. Good luck!

Chris asks…
recipes for detoxing or other beneficial drinks?
i’ve heard of a one used by celebrities made with cayenne pepper, lemon and maple syrup… does anyone know the recipe? and do you have any other recipes that will detox, increase my metabolism or anything else?

Jill answers:
Advantages of Detox Drinks:
Detox Drink RecipeStarting a diet program for your body is very beneficial for you. It gives the necessary rest to the systems of the body by giving it a break from worthless substances that are no more than junk for us. These junk foods only provide futile fats to the body that are later broken into other harmful substances. All of these features are included in the diet plan provided by detox drinks.
Detox Drinks, a Perfect Start:
If you want to start a detox diet program always start it with detox drinks which are able to remove the tonic materials from the body. To begin Detox drinks program, take fresh lemon juice made of one glass of warm water and half lemon without eating anything in the morning as soon as you get up. The detox drinks stimulates the juices in the stomach and activate out body systems which in turn begin to function efficiently. One should try to take as much fluid as one can. This is the essential condition of detox drink program. Try to take eight glasses of water at least everyday and you will feel the remarkable difference in your skin; how soft and smooth it becomes. These detox drinks will provide energy to the body and one can feel as if strength has been poured into him/her and detox drinks also rejuvenate the person simultaneously. Starting with a lemon drink you can follow up with any fruit juice such apple juice, carrot vegetable juice and peach juice.

Jill answers:
Are you allowed to use dill? If so then youcould mix some dill with the yogurt along with the spinach and garlic and black pepper and make a nice dip for carrots and celery (and rye bread.
You could boil the cardamom and cinnamon and ginger together, mix in the soy milk add lemon and honey to taste and have a nice chai latte.
You could boil up the brown rice with carrots, celery, garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest and carrot juice, spoon the mixture into boiled cabbage leaves, top with more lemon zest and carrot juice and pop it in the oven for stuffed cabbage rolls.

Helen asks…
Detox Diets?
I need a jumpstart to a better diet. For the past few days, I haven’t really been watching what I was eating, and so I researched about detox diets. Which one is the best one? Master Cleanse, Water, any others? How much weight can I expect to lose and keep off if I work out and maintain a healthy lifestyle? Thanks for the help.

Jill answers:
I lost 22lbs on Isagenix.
It is a very easy and effective system to use.
A bit pricey, but you save on groceries and meals/drinks out so it is not so bad.
I have kept it off for the most part, but do a cleanse day once a month.
Good Luck!

Michael asks…
detox diets?
does anybody have experience with detox diets? do they work fast? have you kept the weight off? (pros/cons ect) lots of best answer points
then give me some detox routines to try?

Jill answers:
Detox diets are mainly for flushing toxins not weight loss as a whole. It is kind of a jumpstart and it does work very well in increasing your enery and making you feel great ! And it helps you get rid of a sweet tooth if it is done effectively

Susan asks…
Detox diets…?
Do you have a good detox diet? I want to cleanse my body of all the unhealthy foods I have eaten…

Jill answers:
Detoxification needs lots of water and fibers in your diet to flush out toxin from your body. Add natural Vita.c ( orange , guava, amla) in diet for rejuvenation. Avoid too much salt and sugars or any preservatives. Have lots of fruits salads.
Have a nice day

Joseph asks…

trying to jump start my diet, but i feel bogged down, any good detox diets out there?

Jill answers:
When I detox I just fast. Two or three days of it and you won’t be bogged down.
== Heart Of Saturday Night ==

George asks…
Do detox diets really help you loose weight?
I have heard that some detox diets can help you loose weight, because your colon can be blocked with rubbish and poisons (mostly from meat). Is this true?

Jill answers:
Yep.
But dont expect to loose much.
In the long run you will loose more after the detox.. Since your body will become very responsive.
For example, exercixe will be much easier and results will come much faster.
Be careful tough, since people somtimes confuse detox wiht starvation and that can kill you fast.

Jenny asks…
i want to loss weight (20 characters blah)?
iam 16 yrs old
weigh 152 lbs
i want to be 130 by end of summer
how can this be accomplished?
i dont care if its unhealthy as long as its not super unhealthy
i have already started running around 3 miles 6 days a week
im trying to not eat as much
can sumone tell me how they lost weight?
i want to start a detox diet so tips and a recipe would be nice
thanks!

Jill answers:
1) Your Diet
You can’t tell yourself “not to eat as much”.
You must calculate your calorie intake per day. This is very important. 85% of successful weight loss goes to your diet.
Choose lighter meal, cut down on the portion you take.
To calculate your calorie intake, Try this website:
http://www.livestrong.com/myplate/
2) Exercise
You have to exercise.
Jogging, walking, or swimming are good choices.
I recommend you not to stress yourself out, just enjoy the sport you like.
Try exercising for minimum 4 days per week, each session at least 40 minutes.
If you follow the tips above, most likely you can lose 0.5kg~1kg per week.
Don’t lose more than 2kg per week.
It’s unhealthy, and the fats will “bounce back” quickly.
Let’s work hard towards our goal. Good luck!

Paul asks…
Detox recipe?
I’m not overweight but I would like to drop a few pounds.
Does anyone know any detox drink recipes that taste pretty ok? I’m not detoxing to lose weight but I do want to cleanse my system before I start my exercise and diet regiment

Jill answers:
Stay away from all carbs, fats/sweets for a week. Detox shouldn’t be a main drink or meal, it should just be very healthy food for at LEAST a week. Smoothies (low fat yogurt, frozen fruit, and orange juice) is a quick “cleanser” if you will.

Steven asks…
I need to lose weight…?
Can anyone please share some tips with me on how to lose 3kg before valentine’s? Besides exercising and dieting….is there any secret recipes to help me detox??
I’ve read about beyonce drinking maple syrup before but i totally forget about the recipe…

Jill answers:
There is no secret
The key is: Diet Diet Diet, then exercise:
You need to eat 5-6 small meals a day. Eat some protein with each meal! Cut out all refined sugar!!! Also add more fiber. The fiber and protein will fill you up, helping you to cut down on your unhealthy eating. Also by eating more than 3 meals spread out through the day you will kick your metabolism in high gear. Here is a general meal for a day:
Breakfast: 2 poached eggs
whole wheat toast
1/2 cup fruit
Snack: Cottage Cheese with veggie
Lunch: Turkey, lettuce, tomato, whole wheat bread sandwich
1/2 cup fruit
Snack: Protein Shake
Dinner: Turkey Burger ( no bun )
Side of brown rice
Side of Broc.
Then exercise regularly 4-5 days a week. Do both cardio and lifting. But on days that you do both. Do lifting before your cardio and you will maximize your fat burn. Cardio can be a sport: basketball, soccer, football, anything with losts of movement. Golf is a no no.
So Example :
Monday – 30 mins lifting then 1 hr cardio
Tuesday – 1 hour lifting
Wednesday – Rest
Thrusday – 30 mins lifting then 1 hr cardio
Friday – 1 hour lifting
Saturday – Rest
Sunday – 30 mins lifting then 1 hr cardio
For exercises check out:
xercisefactor(dot)com
They have hundreds of exercise video clips
Also check out the XGen to randomly generate a workout routine. You have to sign up, but it is free.

Linda asks…
Lemonade Cleanse 10 day diet? Help me with recipe please!!!?
Hey all!! I was watching La Ink last nite, and two of the girls made a “lemonade cleanse”. It’s a diet you do for 10 days and you drink as much of this “lemonade” drink as you want. You mix lemon juices, filtered water, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. It’s supposed to help you lose weight and detox your body.
OK so… My question is:
In the recipe for the “lemonade” you’re supposed to use maple syrup. Well I messed up and when I went to the store today, I got pure molasses. Does anyone know about this lemonade cleanse?
Can I use the molasses instead of the maple syrup? And if not, what kind of maple syrup? It’s not supposed to be the kind you use on pancakes and stuff… So what kind is it!?!?
Thanks you guys!! TGIF!!! Have a great weekend!!

Jill answers:
I heard about that and asked my father about it- you are not doing your body justice with that. You may think your cleansing- but your really killing.
Try laxatives instead- and when you finish you will need to eat a lot of yogurt to replace all of the organisms that will have died.

Carol asks…
Can I go on a detox diet without losing weight?
I am 5’8″ 135 lbs, and I haven’t been taking care of my body lately. I would really like to clean out my system to help with my skin, digestive tract, and stamina, but I fear losing weight if I cut out such things as carbonated beverages that provide a good portion of my caloric intake. Are there any detox diets that can be followed without weight loss and healthy food substitutes that will sustain weight?

Jill answers:
You take the fruit diet for 2 weeks and then strat eating wheat bread , brown rice and tuna …cucumbers ..and jilt the soda . More water …and eat 3 meals in a day

John asks…
How do you cleanse/detox without losing weight?
I want to do a thorough cleanse of my body inside and out, but I really don’t want to lose any weight. How can I do this safely?

Jill answers:
By simply drinking water and fresh fruit juices everyday, liquid detoxifies your body and eliminates toxins.

Thomas asks…
How to detox WITHOUT losing weight?
I want to detox my body for clearer skin, more energy and generally to feel more healthy, BUT i’m already naturally skinny so i don’t want to lose wieght. I’m aware that any detox ‘diet’ causes weight loss, but i would like mine to be as minimal as possible. Any ideas for a 7 day plan?

Jill answers:
You’re right that changing your diet will likely result in weight changes. What are you planning on eating during the “detox”? I’d recommend plenty of fruit (that you’re fairly sure you’re not allergic to) and vegetables, and eliminate the canned, processed and boxed/frozen foods. For your grains, oatmeal with some brown sugar ought to do the trick to stay as plain and natural as possible. So if you shop at the outer edges of your local supermarket, you’ll find the foods most healthy for you. The exceptions would be the oatmeal and brown sugar, and frozen veggies are an easy food to make and are quite filling and good for you.

Steven asks…
I am really small how can you detox without losing weight?
Ive been sick and i would prefer to try detoxing the natural and safe way are there any herbs i could use instead of pills.

Jill answers:
Actually, detoxing won’t specifically force weight loss and often the weight that’s lost just from the detox is either just a few ounces of toxins/wastes (not enough to notice a difference on the scale) or it’s just feces that you will replenish when you eat food anyway (so it’s only temporary weight loss).
Either way, it’s very negligible weight loss, so you won’t have to worry about that. Also, if you’re looking to gain weight, I would suggest consulting a nutritionist or dietitian to find the best and safest way to gain weight through diet and exercise (eg. Weight lifting). Good luck and I hope I helped!

Mary asks…
Internal Body Cleansing/Detox without losing weight?
I’ve been searching the internet for some type of tea, or product/kit to detox with. I’ve read multiple times that detoxing is great for your body and may help rid toxins etc.. I want to help remove the leftover depo-shot from my system. As well as use it after quitting smoking. Basically I want a full body cleanse but I don’t want to lose weight. I’m naturally slender, and I don’t want to lose weight while doing it. Any recommendations?

Jill answers:
An active zeolite is what you are looking for, it is effective for detoxification as well as bringing your systems to be more strong at any harmful elements and help rid toxins.

A natural detox diet is set to get rid of all the toxic materials from your body in a natural way. This will help you to flush out all the chemicals and other unwanted substances from your body without using any medicines. This detox plan also includes physical activities such as exercise.
You may ask how your body gets filled up or contaminated by all these harmful substances. Well the answer to that is easy. In today’s busy world people live on junk food, take outs, and microwave meals as they haven’t the time or energy to cook from scratch. They revert to comfort eating, alcohol, tobacco and drugs to relieve stress and tension. These are like poison for the body. They might put you in a dreamy state for sometime but they do no good for you at all.
Chemicals in products you use on your skin and for washing your clothes get absorbed into your body.
Chemicals in household cleansers and air fresheners pollute your home and you inhale them.
What symptoms do they cause?
These substances harm the liver, which detoxifies everything that goes into the body. So this results in headaches, stomach aches and stomach trouble, cold and general weak and fragile health. In some cases they cause heart disease, diabetes and even cancer.
So you can see that there is a need to detox and one of the easiest ways to do it would have to be naturally. Whatever state your health making simple changes in your diet will help you to detox naturally. It may take more time but you will begin to see changes if you stick to it.
How do you get rid of them?
If you stop putting toxins into your body your liver will have a chance to catch up with the backlog. Also by eating foods that help support the detox process you will be supplying your cells with the nutrients that they need to cleanse themselves.
This means giving up processed and junk food, food high in sugar and fat, pre-prepared meals, sausages, hot-dogs, deli counter meats, candy, cakes, cookies etc. Reduce coffee, regular tea if you drink a lot and sodas. Give up alcohol, smoking and recreational drugs.
What’s left? Don’t panic there is plenty to eat. Fresh fruit, vegetables of all kinds, free range meat, poultry and eggs, a little mercury free fish, whole grains, beans and lentils and a few fresh nuts and seeds. Drink fresh fruit and vegetable juices or make some green smoothies. Drink filtered or good bottled, non carbonated water. Make some soups too. Use natural personal care products and household products.
Detox reactions
When you first start with the detox diet, you may notice a few cleansing reactions like skin eruptions or loss of energy or you may even get headaches. But this will slowly disappear as your body gets adjusted to it.
After you have been on the diet a while you will start to notice your skin getting better and that you will have more energy than usual. The number of times you fall sick will also decrease. The natural detox diet helps in increasing your immunity to other diseases.
Move those toxins with some exercise
It’s also important to get some exercise to help mobilize the toxins and get them to the liver. Gentle exercise such as rebounding on a mini-trampoline or brisk walking or swimming is good as it helps to increase the heart rate without putting too much stress on the body. It’s a great time to learn yoga or Pilates.
So although you may have to sacrifice the things you love to eat, the end result will mean more to you than those trivial things. You can learn to love healthy food in time. So now that you know all about a natural detox diet, it’s time to start planning it.
