It looks like he’s going to be fine.”Gabber had surgery two weeks prior to the June 9 council meeting. Coburn estimated Gabbar would be off duty for another week to give him ample time to heal.Also in Georgetown police news, Coburn said the department is currently investigating the theft of approximately 17 storm grates in the village. Coburn said village workers had traveled to the office one day to find several gaping holes around town where the grates once were. Tracking down the stolen merchandise was not a problem, Coburn said.”We figured they’d probably go to McKinney’s and that’s where they went,” Coburn said. “McKinney’s is really good about setting stuff aside that they think might be stolen.”According to village Administrator Kelly Jones, the grates themselves range from nine inches wide to six feet wide.
