So my aunt recently dies of colon cancer, and since not a single other person in our family has had it, the doctor told us to be weary of a new strain. So i have never been constipated or irregular my entire life. Until latley. Over the last months, from january to now, i’ve been constipated about 4 times i think.

No bloating, blood, mucus, ect. Just constipation. Could i just need to change my diet (i don’t eat often), or just take in more fiber, ect ect. 14, male.

The most common early sign of prostate cancer is suddenly needing to urinate more frequently than normal (this can also be a symptom of urinary tract and other infections) particularly, stopping urination but feeling that you haven’t emptied your bladder.

The commonest early sign of bowel/colon cancer is an alternation between diarrhea and constipation, other common early symptoms include abdominal pain, blood in stools and sudden weight loss.

Neither disease can be completely prevented but it’s thought that an active sex/ejaculation life may reduce concentrations of carcinogens in the prostate gland.

Chances of developing bowel/colon cancer are shown to be reduced by including plenty of fibre (bran, wholegrain bread etc), fruit and vegetables in the diet, the recommended daily intake is 5 portions of fruit or vegetables a day.

Master Cleanse: anyone ever try it for less than 10 days and get any results?

I did it for 5 days. It wasn’t long enough to get a real “cleanse”, but it certainly made a difference even in such a short time. The first 2 days were hard with cravings, flu-like symptoms, leg cramps, low energy level..but 3-5 were much easier. I lost a few pounds, and just felt “good”. Let me tell you – on the 6th day, I woke up with SO MUCH ENERGY it was amazing. I only intended to do a five day just to prep my body for the full cleanse, and I’m going for another round starting tomorrow and will go the full 10 days plus some if I can. BTW: I never did the salt water flush. The tea morning and night worked just fine for me.

so i read amazing things bout this diet…i went to whole foods and got everything i needed! and kicked it off!! im 24 years old im super tiny 4′10 is my height and 132 my weight! im super over weight after having my daughter! well i been following along to this”diet” and still run 2 miles on treadmill to give it a bigger push! but on day 3 i weight myself cus i was super curious to see how much i had lost and i was STILL at 132.4!! wtf!!! >.< this is driving me CRAZY!!! i read testimonials of ppl ppl praising this diet cus in 3-4 days they lost 4-5 pounds!! and i havent even lost 1!!! grrrrrr!!! i dont no if im doing something wrong!! i dring 9- 10oz glasses of da lemonade and 3 glasses of water during da day! and do da sea salt flush everyday too! WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING WRONG!!! i dont wanna give up!! i said i was gona stick by this for 10 days!! and i had soo much faith in this but i feel like its letting me down!! i dont know what to do!! if any of yous who have done it could plz let me no if i should wait for results! should i just not weight myself till day 10??? should i drink more lemonade? water?? sea salt?? tea?? 2 miles of jogging is barely gonna get youre cardio awake. You gotta do more that if you want quick results. Make sure you drink plenty of water. Im guessing the cleanse diet cleans you out….and dont be discouraged if you gain weight. The muscles in your legs will develop before you start seeing weight loss. Ive never seen an overweight person that could run 10 miles

Has anyone ever heard of or have any comments about the master cleanse diet?

Does it really help you loose weight that fast or is it just another one of those diets that really don’t work. I know this diet would be an extremely hard 10 days and would take an extreme amount of will power but, I know I could do it. I just dont want to waste 10 days of my life on something that does not work so if anyone has ever done this or know good information about this please fill me in with any good information and results about the diet. It really does work! However, it is extremely low calorie, so you cannot do much physical activity during this diet. Also, you’re just losing excess water weight rather than fat. Basically, you will drop several pounds, but you WILL regain them if you go back to eating normally afterwards. I think this diet would be nice if you just need to look your thinnest for a special event like a class reunion, but you should not expect any lasting weight loss. If you’re trying to lose a lot of weight and keep it off, I would not suggest this diet. I would suggest something you can do long-term, like the South Beach Diet or something that is less rapid.

How does the Master Cleanse “lemonade diet” taste?

I’ve heard enough about it not being good for you, and I’m just looking for feedback from people that have tried it. How does it taste? Did you see results? I’m very picky when it comes to eating. I just make a gallon and once I smelt it I didn’t even think about trying it. Do you think I could make it through 10 days? Thanks.

Yuck! It tastes horrible! I tried it once; I made about 3 gallons of lemonade w/ the cayenne pepper mixed in w/ it before I even tasted it, which was stupid. OMG! It will clear your sinuses up right away! You don’t have to mix the pepper in with the lemonade; you can find cayenne pepper capsules at a health food store or pharmacy, and take them with the lemonade. If you really want to stick with the diet, that would be your best bet. Good luck!

Hello everyone!
I’m a high school athlete and therefore i have a very fast metabolism. I’m doing the lemonade master cleanse and im having a bunch of cravings!! its only day 1, i really want to see results in my mood and energy level, as well as some weight loss. Are there ANY foods that i can eat that wont mess things up with my diet? My mom suggested I had a yam? would that be okay to eat? would it make me gain weight?
also..
-how much weight can i loose by doing this cleanse for 10 days? (approx.)
-i have a fast metabolism, would eating the yam make a difference?

I already know it isn’t that healthy, so don’t tell me that, i am simply asking for some answers. so if you are against this, don’t post an answer because this is my body and you don’t make the ultimate decision. how ever my question is how much weight can i lose on a 30 liquid fast? I have already lost 20 pounds with exercise and healthy diet and i have 23 pounds left to lose. summer will be here in 69 days and i want to get down to my original weight 115. i am 5’3, and i have a small frame and that is the weight i feel comfortable at. my liquid fast will be mostly of water, and home made juice containing fruits and vegetables. i am considering going on this fast for 30 days then slowly ease my way back into eating healthy foods. i assume i have lost all of my water weight, so how many pounds do you think i will lose in that month? im the type of person that will maintain my weight loss once it is gone so i don’t want to hear about gaining it back.

Water is a VERY good tool to use when trying to lose weight.

Drink plenty of water. Our body needs a lot of water so give in to water. Water is not just way to flush out toxin but if you have more water in your body you will generally feel healthier and fitter. This it self will discourage any tendency to gorge. The best thing about water is that is has no calories at all.

Drink a glass of water before you start the meal. Water naturally needs some space so that you feel fuller without actually having to stuff yourself.

Have another glass of water while you are having the meal. Again this is another way of making yourself full so that you can actually rise from the table eating less but feeling full just the same. Instead of drinking it one gulp, take sips after each morsel. It will help the food to settle faster so that you get that feeling that you are full faster.

Water is such a remarkable thing, but seldom do we give it the credit that it deserves. Did you know that over 66% of your body weight is nothing but water’ It’s amazing! Water also plays a vital role in weight control, which is why I donated so much space to it, above.

Stay away from sweetened bottle drinks, especially sodas. All those colas and fizzy drinks are sweetened with sugar and sugar means calories. The more you can cut out on these sweetened bottle drinks, the better for you. So if you must drink sodas, then stick to diet sodas.

Include in your diet things that contain more water like tomatoes and watermelons. These things contain 90 to 95 % water so that there is nothing that you have to lose by feasting on them. They fill you up without adding to the pounds.

Light meals plus exercise.

Start by walking 20 minutes, drink a glass of water, walk back 20 minutes, take another glass of water. Walk in the morning, then walk again at night. Increase you walk times. No equipment is required. If you are not moving, you are not loosing weight. Simple.

Losing body fat without losing weight?

Is it possible? I weigh 129lbs at 5’4″, and I have bones sticking out all over so losing more weight is not something I want to do. I keep losing weight, even though that’s really not my intention. It’s just that I’ve noticed for awhile now that my stomach doesn’t seem to be getting much smaller. This is a basic routine for me (keeping in mind that I can’t exercise as much as the average person due to chronic pain) — what can I do?

Exercise:

Cardio (6 days a week) –
1-3 miles at a rate of 6mph (either on a treadmill, or doing Leslie Sansone’s aerobic walking DVDs). I usually aim for 10 miles a week, it used to be more but I was losing even more than I am now.

Strength/Resistance training (3 times a week) —

Abs:
2×8 stability ball crunches
2×12 leg lifts
2×12 plank

Arms:
2×12 bicep curls
2×12 tricep pulldowns
2×12 tricep kickbacks — all done with 2 pound weights, since that seems to be working

Legs:
2×12 plie squats
2×12 box squats
2×12 leg raises (I don’t know the technical term — I sit on a stability ball and raise each leg one at a time, to improve balance and strength)

Diet:

Breakfast —
1/2 cup of All Bran Buds mixed in with Silhouette 0% yogurt
1 serving of fruit (it varies)

Lunch —
Non-fat turkey on WonderPlus+ Invisibles bread
1 serving of fruit or veggies
Skim milk

Dinner –
1 cup of boneless, skinless grilled chicken breast
1 cup of 100% whole grain brown rice
1 serving of mixed veggies

Snacks –
More fruit and vegetables
High-fibre, low-sugar snack bar

Water: drink at least 8 glasses a day

Hello,im having hemorrhoid in my butt.
I eat fruits esp.mango which high in fiber,im eating vegetables.Just as today i ate fruits and vegetables and went to CR and my poop is ok,after watching the mavs game ,my hemorrhoid appeared again.It appeared last week but i use med i forgot the name which i insert in my butt.It was so effective.After a week here it goes again.Damn!And hey i exercise daily too.Its not yet sever though.What to do? !

Problems with Water Rentenion?

I am having problems with water retention, and hoping someone might have a little insight to share.

I have a very healthy lifestyle – daily exercise, approximately 100-120 oz of water a day, diet high in fiber, fruits, vegetables, etc.

Regardless of how much water I drink to flush my system (whether I try to limit or drink my regular amount), I go several weeks at a time with very high retention. I will urinate very little, my fingers get really puffy, I usually get headaches, and strange as it may be, I get really constipated (even with 30-25 grams of fiber a day). The retention isn’t just in my head, as I see a noticeable ‘gain’ on the scale as well.

I have scheduled a doctor’s appointment for this Friday, but am looking for any thoughts that can be shared in the meantime. I am concerned that the doctor won’t do anything because a doctor I saw in the past just told me to increase my water and fiber – which didn’t help even a tiny bit.

Any ideas or thoughts? One last thing to mention . . . both my mother and sister are on water pills from their doctors. So far, nobody has suggested doing the same for me though.

If your doctor doesn’t suggest it this time, don’t be afraid to be proactive.
You should make the suggestion, or at least ask about, and mention the

So, atheists, how do you explain this with your precious “science”?

I am on a diet. Normally, I’m not on a diet, but my doctor put me on medication that causes weight gain and I didn’t watch what I ate at first, so I gained a little weight. Having sworn to my family, all of whom are rotund people, that I was not going to end up fat like they did, I am honor-bound to make sure I maintain a healthy body weight.

So, I’m dieting. I am eating only healthy things such as high fiber fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and the occasional bit of lean meat. Now, here’s the mysterious part…

I eat food during the day, so in theory I should gain weight by the end of the day, but every morning when I wake up, I weigh a few ounces less than I did the day before!

Where does the weight go? Explain that!

This was, of course, a Poe. However, I can’t help but notice that so far only two people have actually put forth a viable answer for why I would weigh less each morning than I do the previous night.

Water is constantly evaporating off both your skin and the surface of your lungs, as you breath. During the day, you keep replacing this water with stuff you drink, but unless you are a sleep drinker, you do not replace this water while you sleep. Everyone loses weight while they sleep, for this reason.

If you pee, in the morning, before you drink anything and before you weigh yourself, there is another morning, water weight loss.

Edit: I forgot to mention that all the heat your body produces while you sleep is the result of food being “burned’ in your cells. You exhale all that burnt food as carbon dioxide while you sleep. The oxygen in that carbon dioxide came from oxygen your lungs absorbed from the air, but the carbon in that carbon dioxide is the food leaving.

I know that the salt water flush is part of the Master Cleanse but my question is, is it possible to do just the salt water flush without the lemonaide? Could I just do the flush early morning and late night and eat light and drink only water during the day and have good effects? Will get get rid of all the waste and bloating and maybe a few pounds?

Yup it sure will. I probably wouldn’t take it at night but instead take the laxative tea. You would need to take a probiotic supplement, or eat good quality yoghurt to replenish the healthy bacteria.

Do not use that stuff. It is not healthy for anyone and certainly not for a 17-year-old for 10 days. You could kill yourself. Nothing has been sitting in there for years…it comes out as waste.

How safe and effective is the Master Cleanse?

I want to rid my body of waste and toxins as well as lose enough weight to join the military my goal is to lose 30lbs in 30 days.

Compared to a lot of the other cleansing products on the market, the Master Cleanse is actually pretty safe. Most of the products being sold today contain really harsh laxatives that wipe out the natural bacteria in the colon. The Master Cleanse recipe has been around for over 50 years, which is a pretty good indication that it’s a safe program.

As for losing 30 pounds in 30 days, that’s pretty extreme, but it could happen depending on how much you have to lose and how long you do the cleanse. I’d say it’s definitely worth looking more into.

Are cayenne pepper gel caps ok on master cleanse?

I am on day 22 of the master cleanse and cannot get a clear answer to the following, I cannot stand the taste of cayenne pepper in the large amount of water, so i take a shooter of it with the lemonaid and two gelatin capsules i filled with cayenne pepper each time i make it. Are the gel caps and shooter process ok? Or am i wasting my time?

I dont see why it wouldnt be just fine. Just dont take too much or you might get some stomach discomfort. I dont see how it could be dangerous, unless you had a medical complication.

I seriously doubt you will have an adverse reactions to taking it in pill form. Try taking just one and let us know how it works out.
