Abdominal pain – ultrasound for colon problems?
I have had pain in my lower right abdomen since November. I saw a dr. who did blood tests for some possible organ problems and brushed me off after that saying it must be a muscle spasm. I continued to have it so i went to a gynecologist three months later who found several small cysts on both ovaries and told me that was what was causing it. I just had another ultrasound which found I have no cysts anymore and yet I still have the pain. This doctor referred me to get another abdominal ultrasound but said that she thought it was colonitis. Will an abdominal ultrasound find problems with the colon and/or any ideas on what else this might be?
The ultrasound is to check to see if there might be some bigger masses on your ovaries or uterus, but as to whether or not it will show colitis not that I am aware of because of how dense the colon is.
However, I would recommend getting another opinion preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor that you currently go to for care, to see what they think could be going on.
