This stuff is wonderful. It makes my granite sparkle. Just a quick spritz and wipe, and my counters are clean, shiny, and de-greased. An added plus? It is virtually odorless.

I’ve used a lot of different granite cleaners, but 409 Natural Stone Cleaner is by far my favorite. Not only it is the most effective granite cleaner I have found, it is also very reasonably priced compared to other specialty granite cleaners. I won’t use anything else.

This product works so well on our granite counter tops…better than anything else we have used. It leaves our countertops clean and shining with no dulling film. I am having difficulty finding it and that is my only complaint.

Any engineer who needs to perform stress and strain calculations knows the value of owning or having access to Roark & Young’s classic reference for Formulas for Stress and Strain. Blevins’ reference book is without a doubt the Roark and Young for vibration calculations. It is setup in much the same way as Roark & Young’s, with many easy to understand tables with many cases. It covers the vibration mode shapes and natural frequencies of beams of many cross section and boundary condtions, shells, plates, and even fluid systems. I’ve had it for a couple years, and I still learn new things every time I use it. A must for any engineer who deals with vibration.

If you hate getting up in the dark on those dreary winter mornings, this simple timer device can be a godsend. All you need to do is plug it into the wall eight hours before you want the light to go on. You choose whichever light you prefer and you can also use the natural light bulbs included. Then eight hours later your light will gradually come on over the course of about 15 minutes, simulating the dawn rising. The timer will automatically turn off the light on hour later. The process then repeats itself the next day.

Pros–Simple device, easy to use, the timer is accurate, and not as expensive as other dawn simulators. You won’t squint at bright lights when you first get up.

Cons–When you first plug it in, you have to be sure to plug it in exactly eight hours before you want it to go on. Also, there is no way to check if your light is off or on when it is plugged into the timer (which can be confusing if you and/or your partner turn off the light for weekend mornings). To do so, you have to unplug it from the timer and plug it into a different socket (and with the light off, this can be hard to do–have a flashlight with you). If you unplug the timer to use the same socket then you will have to be sure replug it in exactly eight hours before you want the light to come on.

Overall, using this simulator we find it much easier to get our of bed in the winter. Our 9-year-old daughter was so envious of it, that she begged for us to give her one for her room as a Christmas present.
